Thomas Home

To Warren and the team at Walker Adolph Homes,

We can't thank you enough for your commitment and positive attitude when taking on our building project. We had been to a number of building companies who looked at our section and were less than enthusiastic, but from the moment we walked into your office, until the day we moved into our fantastic new home nothing phased you.

The challenges the site posed and as a result, the stringent council requirements were seen by you as a challenge not a barrier. There were many times throughout the consent stage where we were ready to throw in the towel, but you persevered and reassured us that we would have a great house in the end.

Communication is key and more often than not is lacking in a project of this size. Your project management skills are second to none and the teams ability to keep us fully informed was excellent. It ensured that we had confidence to let you get on with the job and in fact the build was a stress free process. You are practical and your extensive knowledge helped to keep us grounded and ensured our budget was used in areas that mattered.

Invariably all building projects have unforeseen issues and when our wooden floor was not up to our expectations you dealt with this quickly and efficiently leaving us in no doubt that your after build service is also excellent.

Full contract versus labour only, give us full contract any day, especially when it is a great company such as yours. We continue to have peace of mind that if something were to happen we only have to call you and it will be sorted.

We have no hesitation in recommending you and your company and in fact we have done so on a number of occasions.

We love our new home and are confident it will stand the test of time.

All the best

Kim, Martin and Grace

The Kortegast Home

Walker Adolph Homes built a new home for Anne & Tony Kortegast in Remuera overlooking the third green of the Remuera Golf Course.

Owners Anne & Tony say the project was a complicated one; a large two storey home and extensive wine cellar. The style is a modern minimal design with an Italian flair to it, with a plaster finish.

Anne Kortegast says "Walker Adolph were up front and honest, fantastic to work with. Blair & Warren just seem know where you are coming from. We ended up getting exactly what we wanted. At the same time they were very aware of our budget, and came up with alternatives when we were after features that would cost too much."

The Kortegast home was designed by architect, Alan Shanahan, and Walker Adolph Homes did a great job of following his well detailed drawings.

Anne Kortegast says "Blair Walker was an excellent project manager, and got the best deals possible on plumbing and fittings."

She says work with the subcontractors was really well organised and everything went to plan. "Everything was built to a high standard and our dealings with the council inspectors were completed without a hitch."

Anne says she would highly recommend Walker Adolph Homes. "We worked with Walker Adolph Homes renovating a place on the North Shore as a work and income property. It was a breeze. I would recommend them to anyone!"

The Burt Home

Walker Adolph Homes built a home for Alison and Graeme Burt in Pt Chevalier. It is a pre-designed Lockwood home with a number of modifications to the living as well as extensive basement & garage.

Alison says Walker Adolph were very approachable and pro-active.

"We told them we had never built a home before and were a bit green. So Warren Adolph was great at coming up with some ideas and alternatives."

She says building a home is such a huge investment; they wanted to be sure about the builders they employed.

Alison says her home was completed to a high professional standard.

"All the guys on the job from Walker Adolph had a similar attitude. They were good listeners, helpful, coming up with ideas and willing to consult us and look at alternatives when needed."

Alison Burt says Walker Adolph Homes have a genuine professional pride in their work and extensive building experience.

"There are lots of stories about shoddy workmanship and leaky buildings. We felt we could really trust Warren and Blair. We had confidence in them and they came up with the goods."

Alison says Warren, who project managed the building of their home, was like a friend during the whole process, and didn't treat them as "just another person; getting a job done, and on to the next one."

The Shields Home

Abby Shields lives with his wife Sarah in their family-friendly Kumeu lifestyle block, built by Walker Adolph Homes.

When bringing their plans to Walker Adolph Homes, the couple felt they were really being listened to by the friendly and supportive staff," living overseas in Dubai really put the pressure on us," but after meeting with Warren & Blair we had total trust in them to help us work through the design and complete the our new home, even though all communication was via email during the construction process.

"Walker Adolph Homes were so good to talk to" they say.

The 6 bedroom house now lives up to the couples' dream of living in a light and spacious place, which was achieved with high raked ceilings and plenty of huge windows.

"I tell everyone that they should go with Walker Adolph Homes" Abby says.

Abby says the large windows are particularly superb for the family in winter, as the house utilises plenty of the natural warmth from the sun.

"The only problem now is where to put the furniture – we don't want to cover any of the view".

The couple also mentions that not only did Walker Adolph Homes exceed their expectations; they were also impressed by the team of builders, who constantly displayed a friendly and professional attitude.

"All of the carpenters were helpful and accommodating" they say.

The Shields also point to the fact that Warren (Adolph), who project managed the building of their home, was open and sincere at all times.

"Warren is an honest man," Abby concludes.
